French Bulldog Poly-Art

Description

This was a project I did on my own, as a Christmas gift for my brother. He owns 3 French Bulldogs, and I thought it would be nice if I made some art of the dogs.

After researching various styles, I settled on a polygonal art style which not only retained the essence of the original photo but also added a touch of abstract flair.

The Plan

For this project, I started by importing the original dog image into Illustrator. Using a meticulous approach, I hand-drew each triangle or quadrilateral and then blended the colors to achieve the desired effect.

While this process was time-consuming, the result was well worth the effort, and my brother was thrilled with his gift. Additionally, I found the entire experience to be enjoyable and plan to incorporate this technique into my future assignments.

Software

To create this project, I utilized a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop. Illustrator was employed to carefully pen out the shapes and generate the polygonal effect, while Photoshop was utilized for resizing and color correction to achieve the final desired result.
